Anyone can compete in a Stage 1 Qualifier. Only CNL Members will be eligible to qualify to Stage 2 and earn leaderboard points.
If a CNL athlete has already qualified for Stage 2 (from another competition), the next qualified CNL athlete will advance through to Stage 2.
Prelims:
● All athletes (per wave) are given the floor at the same time.
● Courses:
○ 3 to 5 mini courses.
○ Courses should mostly be “A to B” and “floor is lava” style.
○ Courses should NOT cross paths with another course
○ Very few course rules.
○ Courses should not require a highly qualified judge, just a timer who watches for obvious fails and falls (no nitpicking or precise judging required).
■ Each course will require its own timer
Wave Time:
○ Default is 30 minutes.
○ The host gym can decide the duration for each wave.
Points:
○ Points are awarded for completing the course without any failures.
○ Athletes earn points based on their finish time.
■ Example:
● Bronze (5pts): 45+ seconds
● Silver (10pts): 35-44 seconds
● Gold (15pts): 25-34 seconds
● Platinum (20pts): 15-24 seconds
○ Athletes can attempt all courses as many times as they want, but only their best time will be recorded.
■ Example: 5 mini courses = Maximum 100 points
● Failures:
○ If an athlete fails during their attempt, they must get off the course.
● Tie Breakers:
The placement is determined using the following hierarchy:
Most Medals by Tier: Compare the athletes’ medal counts in the following order until a difference is found:
1. Platinum (Most Platinums wins)
2. Gold (If Platinums are tied, most Golds wins)
3. Silver (If Platinums and Golds are tied, most Silvers wins)
4. Bronze (If Platinums, Golds, and Silvers are tied, most Bronzes wins)
Course Times: If the athletes are still tied after the full medal comparison, the tie is broken by the sum of their course times. The athlete with the lower (faster) total course time is placed higher.
